How to answer requests and win bookings
When an owner near you asks for a service, a fast, clear reply makes the difference. What to write, when, and how to make an offer.
On Gatsou, owners don't only wait to find you. They often describe what they need, for example "cat-sitting for two cats this weekend", and nearby partners receive the request. Whoever replies first and most clearly has the best chance.
Where do I see new requests?
On the Requests page of the partner portal. The number next to the menu item shows how many are waiting. Each request shows the service, when the owner needs it, the area and the animals.
How fast should I reply to a request?
As fast as you can. Owners usually choose between the first replies they get. A short reply within the hour is worth more than a perfect one the next day.
Check Requests two or three times a day, at fixed times. Reply speed is your strongest advantage.
What should I write in my offer?
Confirm what you understood
"Two cats, Saturday and Sunday, a morning and an evening visit." The owner sees you read carefully.
Give a clear price
A specific price or a range, and what it includes. Vague offers go unanswered.
Say something about you
One sentence on your experience with this animal or service.
Suggest the next step
For example a short meet-and-greet or a call before the first visit.
What if I can't take a request?
You don't need to answer every one. It's better to let a request pass than to send an offer you can't keep.
How does a request become a booking?
When the owner picks your offer, the booking appears under Bookings and you can carry on the conversation in Messages. Keep the details inside the Gatsou conversation so you both have a clear record.
A good reply in three lines
"Hi! I can look after your two cats this weekend, morning and evening, at the price in my offer for both days. I've cared for cats for five years, and we could meet on Friday if you'd like."
Frequently asked
How do I know a new request has arrived?
New requests appear on the Requests page, with a number next to the menu item. Check the page regularly during the day.
Can I change an offer after sending it?
You can continue the conversation with the owner on the same request and clarify details before they choose.
What happens if the owner picks someone else?
The request closes for you. There's nothing to do, and the next chance comes with the next request.
Do I have to answer every request?
No. Answer the ones that fit your services and schedule. An offer you can't keep does more harm than no reply.
