How to set up payouts and get paid on Gatsou
What Stripe is, why we use it, what you need to connect your account and how money reaches your bank.
To take online payments for bookings, or donations, through Gatsou you need a payout account. We use Stripe, one of the largest payment providers in the world. You set it up once and it takes a few minutes.
What is Stripe and why do I need it?
Stripe processes card payments and sends the money to your bank account. Gatsou never stores card details or your bank credentials. Stripe also verifies your business identity, as the law requires for anyone who takes payments.

How do I connect my account, step by step?
Open Payouts
In the partner portal, go to Money, then Payouts.
Start connecting
Press the connect button. You'll be taken securely to Stripe.
Fill in your details
Stripe asks for business details, ID and your IBAN. You can stop and continue later.
Come back to Gatsou
When you finish you return to the portal automatically and see your account status.
Have your IBAN and an ID document to hand before you start. That way you finish in one go.
When does the money reach my bank?
Stripe pays out to your account on its own settlement schedule. You can see what you've earned on the Earnings page of the portal, and the details of each transfer in your Stripe dashboard.
Do I need this to appear on Gatsou?
No. Your listing goes live without a payout account, and owners can find and contact you. The account is only needed for online payments and donations.

Does opening a Stripe account cost anything?
Connecting the account costs nothing. Any fees apply only to payments you take, and your net earnings are shown on the Earnings page.
Can I change my bank account later?
Yes. Payout details are managed in Stripe, and you can change them there at any time.
Why does my account say more information is needed?
Stripe sometimes asks for a document or detail to finish verification. Open Payouts in the portal and continue where you left off.
Do I need a payout account for each business I run?
Yes. Each business or organisation in the portal has its own payout account, so money goes to the right place.
